The expansion of the Profile's social media use was the springboard for creating the online website. Prior to this year, the paper's occasionally-used website was not publicized and its design did not fit the theme of the paper. It had always been a goal of mine to start over and build a user-friendly website from scratch, and I was able to do this over the past month.

 

http://masonprofile.wix.com/mhsp launched January 2016, and I am proud to say that I single-handedly built it from the ground up! It took an immense amount of time and effort to launch, mostly because I kept checking it over and over again for mistakes, but the results are worth it.

 

The new website allows Profile readers to access stories anytime, anywhere. It can be viewed both on a desktop and on mobile devices, which makes it user-friendly. Like the printed version, the Profile Online serves to provide informative and engaging stories for the Mason High School student body and the surrounding community through the use of exceptional writing, design, photography, and artwork.

 

Through creating this website, I have expanded the Profile to a new-age platform. This has allowed me the opportunity to not only leave my mark on the Internet, but to leave my mark on my staff and on Mason High School as a whole.
