One of the jobs I have as a journalist is to keep up with current events, whether it be local news or global news. Over time, I have learned how to interpret stories in the news and bring them to readers in ways they can understand and relate to.

 

In order to write stories that will have this effect, newsgathering and news literacy are priorities. Researching news items is a key element of creating stories that are reliable and unbiased, and I make sure to conduct research for event the simplest of stories.
